Red-Alta has received Certificate of Recognition’s (COR) for our safety program in both Alberta and Saskatchewan and we are currently working on achieving it for B.C. A full-time in house Safety Coordinator runs Red-Alta’s safety program. We conduct safety audits and schedule safety meetings on a regular basis to ensure Red-Alta’s safety requirements and procedures are adhered to by our staff at all times.

Red-Alta is committed to safety. We are members of the Alberta Construction Safety Association, Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association, CAGC, NULCA, BCCGA (British Columbia Common Ground Alliance), ASSMT, The Red Deer Chamber of Commerce, PSAC and Red-Alta is a founding member of CAPULC (Canadian Association of Pipeline and Utility Locating Contractors). Red-Alta has also received several awards for our safety program and WCB safety record.
Red-Alta oilfield locators have certification in First Aid/CPR, H2S, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, TDG, Quad Safety, Electrical Protection, Tech 101, Confined Space and PST. Red-Alta has in-house TDG, PST, WHMIS and First Aid instructors. We also have an in-house training and mentoring program that our locators are required to go through.
Our utility locators are trained on computer programs and map reading to identify buried utilities. They are also required to attend our in-house refresher course annually.
